✳ WHAT THIS SITE IS
About this guide.
Stockholm Attractions is an independent English-language guide to Stockholm’s inner city, written for people who are visiting rather than for people who live here.
What it covers, and what it leaves out
The city itself: the museums, the neighbourhoods on and around the central islands, the viewpoints, the ways of getting around, and the handful of places most visitors end up deciding between.
It does not cover the archipelago or day trips outside the city, and it does not carry tour products we have not been on. That last one is a deliberate omission: the search results for tours belong to the companies selling them, and a guide that lists products it has never used is no use to anyone.
How a page gets made
Every page starts from the operator’s own pages — the museum, the transport authority, the city, the organiser — which we read and archive before anything is written. A draft is then checked line by line against that archive.
Anything the draft asserts that the archive does not support is removed rather than softened. Figures, opening rules and prices are rebuilt from the source and carry the date we checked them. Where two official sources disagree, we follow the one responsible for the thing being described, and where that does not settle it, we leave the claim off the page.
What it will not do
It does not sell tickets, and it takes no commission on any ticket, pass or tour mentioned anywhere on the site. Where a pass or an operator is discussed, it is discussed on the same terms as anything else: what the official page says, and whether the numbers add up.
